Results Wire: US FDA Advisory Committee Does Not Support New Blood Donor Deferral Policy Related to the Risk of Mad Cow Disease - JUN 1, 2015 (TSEAC)
On Monday, June 1, 2015, the Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies Advisory Committee (TSEAC) voted 8-5 against a revised blood donor deferral policy for the risk mitigation of variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD), more commonly known as Mad Cow Disease. The Committee unanimously supported retaining the current policy.
